Monday must-reads!

Hey friends!

Since today is Monday; the day for ass-kicking and go-getting, I thought it would be a good day to remind you the importance of fresh starts. Because let’s be honest, Mondays kinda stink. We all need a little cheering up at the beginning of the week. So here I am, captain cheerful at your service.

The week in review

Hey friends!

One of the most annoying things peoples say- ‘I can’t believe it’s Friday/October/2016 already…this year is going soooo fast!’ But it’s true, is it not? So let’s just pause for a moment and think about that. Okay I don’t want to think about it too much because it reminds me that I’m almost not a teenager anymore and that means I’m on the downhill slope to grey hairs and grumbling about the weather.

Monday must-reads!

Hi friends!

And just like that it is October. I’ve been seeing this quote everywhere from one of my favourite childhood heroes about being glad to live in a world where there are Octobers (Anne of Green Gables FYI.) I couldn’t agree more, not only is October my birth month, it is also spring and the gentle decline to Christmas. Three cheers for October…

Monday must-reads!

Hello friends!

I wanted to write something sweet and encouraging for you because Mondays are kinda a drag as it is but my heart and hands had another idea. I’m reading a book at the moment called Let’s All be Brave and I feel kinda torn. One half of me is digging her heels in, feeling uncomfortable with the thought of change and trying her best to persuade wild me to stay put. Then the other half of me is jumping up and down, desperate for adventure and hardly able to contain her excitement.

Random ramblings #5

Hey friends!

I’m on holiday(ish.) They always call it mid-semester break and people always ask what you are doing for your holiday but in reality it is neither a break, nor a holiday. Not when you’ve got assignments to start, lab reports to finish and notes to write frantically. And I’m not even getting a break from cooking because Mum’s working so it has fallen to me (I’m the real MVP right?)

My favourite milk tart

Hey friends!

I can’t tell you how glad I am that it is Friday! I hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend. I’m looking forward to it because I have an excuse to bake (church bake sale) and I’m meeting a friend for coffee (yay because caffeine.) This post it fitting because it has totally been one of those weeks that dessert has became not just an ideal, but a necessity.

Chocolate hazelnut biscotti

Hey friends!

This chocolate, hazelnut biscotti recipe is a game changer. If you are a Nutella lover (and lets face it, who isn’t?) then you won’t be able to resist. My batch was rapidly demolished by my fussy family and requests were taken for more. In fact, I wish that I had a tin of it to munch on right now after the shocker of a weekend I had!

Random ramblings #2

random ramblings 2

Hi friends!

Now I know that I’m a few days late for this post but this week I came down with the flu so you’ll have to be sympathetic and send me cookies forgive me. As of right now I’m on the bus heading back to university. I’m pretty unexcited about the idea of studying again but what’s even more upsetting is I’m going back to an empty fridge.

Cheesy marmite scones and singleness

cheesy marmite scones, baking, savoury, cheese, snacks

Hey friends!

You know what makes me happy? People who love to eat. Why? Because it gives me an excuse to bake until my heart’s content. Even better when the person also has an adventurous palate. Unfortunately, I didn’t luck out with my family. They don’t like frills and fancies. Don’t even think about putting kale in that salad or cardamom in those cookies! So I was pretty surprised to see these scones disappear before my very eyes.
